God doesn't give children with special needs to strong people; He gives children with special needs to ordinary, weak people and then gives them strength. Raising a child with special needs doesn't take a special family, it makes a special family.

Look into those eyes and tell me this is not the face of a beautiful little boy.....

Meet Shea. A four year old orphan in Ukraine. He has recently been cleared for adoption, but if he doesn't find his family very soon, he will be sent to an institution where he will be bedridden for the rest of his life. He speaks well, he is a very smart and delightful little boy. But he also shares a special bond with Brenden....he was born with spina bifida, hydrocephalus, and some other SB related things. When I begin to picture this precious little boy laying in a bed for the rest of his life, my heart breaks. And all because he wasn't able to find his forever family.

========

Joanna, an online friend of mine and fellow SB mommy, has been led to this little boy. She found Shea and his story for a reason, and although God hasn't fully revealed his plan to her, she knows that she can help make a difference. She has committed to helping this little boy find a family. It takes $25,000 to adopt Shea. And while that is a lot of money, imagine what it would mean to Shea! Joanna has started fundraising efforts to help pay for the adoption, whoever his family may be.

If you feel led to donate, please visit Shea's website that Joanna set up. Donations go directly to his adoption grant and the donations all go through Reece's Rainbow. Reece's Rainbow is an organization dedicated to finding homes for children born with special needs. If you aren't able to give, your prayers are just as important. Big things are in this little guy's future, I believe that in my heart.
