As always, life is never boring. Tuesday, Brenden's daily report from school said he was sick. I asked if he got sick at school, "Just a little bit." He seemed fine to me, tired due to his sleeping ordeal, but certainly didn't seem sick. About twenty minutes after he woke up from nap, he started breathing really heavy, and when I felt him, he was on fire. His temperature was 105, which is high for any kid, but it's always a concern with him because of the extra variables. Of course these things always happen either on the weekend or closing time for the pediatrician, but I called and they said if I could make it there in 45 minutes they would see us. Which meant get two kids ready, out the door, fight traffic on Rt. 9, drive 25 minutes to Winchester with the gas light on. (I know, not smart.) The whole way there I prayed for strep throat or ear infections....I knew if they couldn't find anything, we'd be getting a one way ticket to UVA for an unexplained, extremely high fever. Needless to say, both kids tested positive for strep. Sigh. It's always something.

That of course meant that Brenden had his first sick day since he'd have to be on meds for at least 24 hours. He was not a happy camper. He woke up yesterday morning and asked if he was going to school....I told him no, that he had to wait for his medicine to start working. His response, "Can we go to Dairy Queen to make my medicine work?" He knows when to try....

So life is busy....with sick kids, marathon training, birthday party invites. It seems as though weekends are booking up into November already! I'm registering for several holiday arts and craft shows, now if I can just find the time for production of hair accessories!!! I'm staying busy with orders as it is, so finding time to make extra stock items has been difficult. A few big fundraisers are in the works, too, so planning for those is taking some of my time, too. There just aren't enough hours in the day lately.

Sorry for the lack of photos lately....I've actually taken some but haven't gotten them loaded yet, so someday, I promise to do a picture post :)
