God doesn't give children with special needs to strong people; He gives children with special needs to ordinary, weak people and then gives them strength. Raising a child with special needs doesn't take a special family, it makes a special family.

Guess what I get to do tomorrow?!?! Go to work!!! I am excited beyond words. It is only temporary and on an as needed basis, but I'm so ready. I think I've mentioned before that I am so ready to go back to work. I've applied for lots of jobs lately, mostly at the two hospitals close to us. I'm really praying to find something that I can do evening and/or night shift so I can still be home to take Brenden to and from school and be with the kids. I know the right thing will come along, and as patient as I am trying to be, I hope it comes along sooner rather than later!!
Life is good for now. As of last night I reached my fundraising minimum for my upcoming half marathon, and we still have two fundraisers left so I will surpass the required $1,000.

Jonathan's training was rescheduled, again, but now he will be able to go to Kentucky. Training has been going pretty well, despite some recurring problems with the same knee I've had trouble with before. It seems so much easier training for a half marathon as opposed to a full.....mentally I'm doing much better. Sometimes I am so self-defeating when preparing for a run, but I just tell myself that I can do it....I've done many more miles. Distance running is so much a mental game and I've really been focusing on the mental part this time, which has made a huge difference. I'm thinking I may do another one or two half marathons this year, and then next year a full marathon for the SBA in Hawaii. And maybe the Marine Corps Marathon next year, too....we'll see.

Brenden and Madelynn continue to keep my busy. Some days I really just wonder where the day has gone and feel like I've gotten nothing done. Madelynn is starting to enjoy the girly stuff, maybe a little too much?! She asks me about five times a day to paint her fingers and/or toes, I'm trying to make her realize we don't need to do it everyday. She's very opinionated with her clothes and shoes lately, too, which makes me cringe sometimes because I'm extremely OCD about my kids wearing matching clothes/shoes. Extremely. Usually we compromise and she's just as happy choosing which panties she wears, so for now, that works.

Brenden will be starting horseback riding very soon. He will also have another big activity starting early summer, which we are very excited about. More on that once it gets closer :). I'm hoping to get them both in swim lessons, too. I'd really like to get private lessons but haven't had a whole lot of luck finding someone. They both love the water and do well with arm floaties, I'd just really like to get them on the path to swimming independently.
