God doesn't give children with special needs to strong people; He gives children with special needs to ordinary, weak people and then gives them strength. Raising a child with special needs doesn't take a special family, it makes a special family.

Well I apologize for the lack of pictures recently....I have a 2 year old that is in to literally everything within reach, who somehow opens the door and crawls outside onto the deck when I'm not looking and a 5 month old who refuses to sit still, is already getting up on her knees in preparation for crawling, rolls under beds...and oh yeah, another 2 year old and an almost 9 month old that I babysit!!! Not to mention all the therapy and doctor's appointments that fit in there somewhere!!!

This is the week we have been dreading, yet wishing it would get here quickly and leave even quicker. Tomorrow we head to UVA for Brenden's pre-op appts with Dr. Jane, Jr. as well as anesthesia and possibly some bloodwork. Brenden's surgery was moved from Thursday to Friday, so we will be coming home and then heading back on Thursday night. Madelynn will be staying with my parents, as much as I hate to leave her behind. Our hospital stay will be anywhere from 3-7 days....hopefully Brenden will recover quickly as he always has and we can come home after 3 days. The first night he will be in PICU and should then be transferred to the regular pediatric floor. We have been told that both procedures will probably take about 5 hours, Brenden's longest surgery to date.

Please keep Jonathan, Brenden, and I in your prayers. Jonathan and I trust Dr. Jane completely but more importantly we trust that God will guide his hands as he operates on Brenden. Pray for a quick, easy recovery for Brenden and that he is able to pick up right where he left off....he's made HUGE progress in every area lately!!!

Does she look like her Uncle Josh, or what?!?!

This was the last time Madelynn used her bouncy seat....she almost tipped it over by leaning forward to reach a toy!!

Me and Carter coloring! (Take note of who is staying on task and coloring and which one is getting into something else!?!?)
