We've made it half way thru the week, with hopes the second part goes as fast as the first. We got a surprise call last night that Valley Home Health was in the area and wanted to drop off Brenden's wheelchair.....I was super excited, for one that they were delivering, and two that we would have it before we go to UVA Friday. As they guys were adjusting it to fit Brenden, he wanted to go! It didn't take long for him to get the hang of it, we just have to work on steering and turning. It's a very bittersweet time. I love seeing him have a new sense of independence. On the flip side, it's a smack in the face with reality. But I've prepared myself for this moment for almost 4 years. Brenden walks very well, and can walk very fast, with his walker, which we were told he would never do. So he has come far, despite the need for a wheelchair. In all honestly he won't use it a ton, but we have it when he needs it. It seems a bit ironic that we're getting a wheelchair and Lofstrand crutches all in one week....but regardless we are super proud of how far he has come. Earlier this evening Jonathan asked Brenden what he liked about his new chair....."Now I can run Daddy." And he's so right....he can go as fast as he wants. He's mastered 360's, almost making me dizzy just watching. He's tipped it over once, which led to us adjusting the tip guards. It's given him freedem, with no physical limitations. And that makes me happy.

Madelynn has gone two days with no potty accidents. She's even stayed dry at nap time!! I've been using the naked approach which has been the only thing that works. Jonathan isn't impressed with her running around with no pants all day, but this momma is ready for a diaper free house! So whatever it takes, right?!?! She does not like me helping her...at all. But after going through an ENTIRE roll of toilet paper today, I'm thinking it's time for a lesson in using the proper amount of toilet paper. Sometimes she forgets to wipe, so when she comes running out to tell me she pottied, I ask if she wiped, and if she forgot, she takes off running to the bathroom. It's fun to see how proud she is when she potties and we love to see her potty dance :)

Hopefully I can give an update on Friday with MRI results, but if not definitely Monday.

We can see Brenden in his chair manuevering all over the place. We use all tools accessible to us to help our children. So glad that Madelyn is handling potty training. Sounds like there have been some big steps in your home !!! love you all
